The Kennel Club of Anne Arundel's primary purpose is to be representative of all breeders, exhibitors,
fanciers and American Kennel Club Canine Partners program members in
Anne Arundel County, Maryland. However, membership is not restricted to Anne Arundel residents.
Anyone with an interest may
apply for membership.
The Kennel Club of Anne Arundel, Maryland, formally became a club in December
2007. In December 2014 we were recognized by AKC as a fully affiliated all-breed club, licensed for all-breed points shows
and we held our inaugural shows in January 2016 at Wesminster, Maryland.
We are an active club, and have sponsored many events,
most of which are open to the public.
We are the newest kennel club in Maryland and
our collective membership has significant experiences in the sport of dogs through breeding dogs, training dogs and their handlers, and
showing dogs in conformation and performance events. Along with exhibiting, we also have behind-the-scene experience with stewarding,
judging and show chairing at all types of canine events.
To promote the advancement of purebred dogs through Confirmation and Performance events to bring the purebred dog to their natural qualities of perfection.
To conduct and provide all avenues for Confirmation and Performance events in accordance with AKC rules and regulations for each event.
To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of excellence set fourth through the approved AKC and Parent club's standards for each breed.
To promote and encourage quality breeding of pure bred dogs.
To encourage/urge members and breeders to display good sportsmanlike performance and competition at all dog events.
Membership is unrestricted as to residency, however the club's primary purpose is to be representative of the breeders, exhibitors and
fanciers in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
